A Meaningful Conversation on Trauma and Mental Health

On January 29, 2026, YPCA hosted an online Trauma and Mental Health Awareness Seminar for Youth, facilitated by Orhan Aslan. The session created room for young people to learn about trauma, mental health, and the importance of recognizing when support may be needed.

The conversation focused on awareness and healing in a way that felt calm, respectful, and easy to follow. Participants explored how difficult experiences can affect people differently and why there is no single timeline or formula for healing.

The Q&A portion gave youth an opportunity to ask questions, reflect on what they had heard, and engage with the topic in a thoughtful way. It was a reminder that conversations about mental health do not need to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes, simply making space to listen can be a powerful first step.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the seminar feel open, respectful, and supportive.

We are also grateful to Orhan Aslan for guiding the session with care and helping create a space where youth could learn, reflect, and feel less alone.
